The Cellar
The origins of Blanch family related to the agricultural world are dated back over 300 years with written references since 1736. The fruits have been typical of the area of Tarragona with a clear evolution to the vineyard with the variety Xarel·lo, Muscat, Macabeo, Subirat Parent, Chardonnay and Ull de Llebre, without forgetting other Mediterranean products such as olive, hazelnut and almond.
A close relationship with these products motivated a step forward in the treatment and outcome of the grape. In 1965 Joan Mestre Blanch started a small business making and marketing wine which was successfully developed. Years later, in 1990, the second generation opened new fields of work in the DO Cava and in the DO Tarragona and DO Priorat, with a clear commitment to foreign markets.
Today, the third generation has done a review to be placed back on the market and has focused its efforts on working the essence of the product, the terrain and the grape, to develop a business based on an organic and maximum quality product. It is no coincidence that the first wines of this new era are those produced by the variety Subirat Parent, traditional in the area and recovered especially for the new project.
The special treatment of the grapes to achieve its best, involves a rigorous control from the vine to the bottle, attention to detail and observing excellence, effort and respect for the environment as core values.
